What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is centred around the principle of wholeness, which encompasses a combination of body, mind and spirit.  The body is capable of self-regulation, self-healing and health maintenance.

Osteopathy focusses on diagnosis with treatment of the whole person; the effects that musculoskeletal problems can have on the function of the body as a whole.  We look at all aspects of your life in relation to the symptoms you are experiencing: your medical history, your lifestyle and the environment you work in.  These may influence or even maintain the problem you have presented with.    Each treatment is individual to the person; no two treatments are the same.

Who do we treat?

Rosamund is able to treat people of all ages, including babies who may be unsettled, sleeping poorly, have digestive problems or have been delivered by caesarian section (or vaginal delivery), pregnant women and the elderly amongst others.

How do we treat?

This depends on what the patient’s body needs!  We might use cranial, visceral, functional or structural techniques - or a mixture of these.
